Polished Orthoceras Fossil Slab

A striking and substantial Orthoceras fossil slab, featuring numerous beautifully preserved, straight-shelled fossil forms set within a naturally patterned dark stone matrix.

Orthoceras were extinct marine cephalopods related to modern-day squid and nautilus, and their distinctive elongated shells create the dramatic linear patterns visible throughout this piece. The fossils have been polished to reveal their contrasting creamy-grey chambers against the  unpolished, rough, deep charcoal and black matrix, giving the slab a wonderfully sculptural appearance.

At approximately 25–30 cm across, this is a heavy and impressive piece that makes a striking addition to a fossil or mineral collection. Its natural variation in colour, pattern and fossil placement makes it a fascinating specimen to examine from every angle.

Here at Odonata Studios we want you to be 100% happy with your purchase but in the unlikely event that you aren't, let us know within 14 days of receipt of the item and then return it to us in it's original condition and box (if applicable) for a full refund of the item.
