Polished Hemimorphite Sphere
A beautifully polished Hemimorphite sphere displaying an enchanting combination of soft blue and earthy brown with many natural, crystal caviies. The pale, almost turquoise-blue Hemimorphite is crossed with natural bands, markings and areas of warm brown matrix, creating a wonderful cratered landscape of colour across its surface.
Hemimorphite is a hydrated zinc silicate mineral, most commonly found in shades of blue, white and colourless, and is particularly prized for its attractive blue specimens. Its name comes from its unusual crystal structure, in which the two ends of an individual crystal can have different forms.
This sphere has been carefully polished to bring out the natural colours and patterns within the stone while retaining plenty of its character and individuality. As with all natural minerals, the markings and distribution of colour are unique to this particular piece.
